VIVA LA MEXICO!!

Bawden Family Reunion 2008

EVERYTHING WE NEED TO KNOW, WE LEARNED IN ROCKY POINT
(thanks to Jodie!)

We learned that "Take the 101 to the 202" sometimes means "Take the 60 to I-10".

We learned that the "choky" is not as torturous as it sounds.

We learned that "How long are we going to be broken down here, people?" actually means "Get your butts back in the car and on the road, people."

We learned that "Leon" is a great name, not only for an over-sized ceramic turtle, but for a perfect-sized grandpa, too.

We learned that Dixie Chicks is prime music for deep sea fishing, four-wheeling and playing Taboo…who knew?!

We learned that if you gotta poop on a patio, make sure it's two casas over and downwind.

We learned that ice cream is a necessity even at 6 times the cost of petrol.

We learned that if you run out of sunscreen, hand sanitizer is not an effective substitute.

We learned that when you're at sea, you can continue to vomit long after you think you're through.

We learned that pinchers on the beaches are as valuable as stars on the bellies of Sneeches.

We learned that Mexican Meclizine does not discriminate based on age, profession, or physical fitness, in it's ineffectiveness.

We learned that Nephi was actually giving geocaching counsel when he said to liken the scriptures unto ourselves. (Camie, Deuteronomy 32:4 says "He is the Rock…" We're thinking it was hidden in a fake rock that looked like the others.)

We learned that the intensity of the grimace on your face is directly proportional to the amount of air you catch on a jet ski.

We learned to wish "Happy Mother's Day" on Mother's Day to every woman you know, regardless of her relation to you.

We learned that on the outside, Amber and the Shanimal may seem like your average, mild-mannered young mothers; but in reality, they are stealthy, bomb-sending, block-switching TetrisNet assassins! "ikillu"

We learned that you can fit 13 people and a ceramic iguana in a supposed 6 passenger pick-up truck. We also learned that Clara Lee and Janae together, don't fill up a single bucket seat. Have an extra scoop of ice cream with your brownie next time ladies.

We learned that trading $2 sunglasses at 7 different vendor shops is almost enough to earn a 6-year-old a night in the Mexican slammer.
Derek going down the slide with Katelyn and Lynnea
Jaxon & Mom playing on the jet ski
Daddy taking Jaxon on the slide over and over again. He loved it!
This is Jodi (my adopted sister) and her husband Dan and their 3 adorable kids. It was so much fun having them with us. Ohh yeah, and my little brother Derek.
This is so cool huh?! A real octopus and many other sea creatures in this bucket. Each morning all of us would go out and find all the sea life that was stuck on the rocks.
Stuart found an alive star fish... so cool!
Daddy and Jaxon

All the guys went deep sea fishing. They were all pumped until they went on the most windy day of the week. Most of them got sick and ended up wanting off the boat more than anything else. With all that said, Stuart enjoyed himself but isn't sure if he'd do it again.
Carter and Cannon holding their fish
These waves were crazy. For those of you who know my brother in law, Scott Woffinden, he is very muscular! Well even he was getting eaten by the waves. It was loads of fun to watch the guys try and tackle the waves.
It was really quite windy so Jaxon would put the stick in the bubbles and they would fly right out. He thought it was so fun. While in Mexico he learned to say bubbles.
" Ore bubbles Ease!" "Tank You"
(I love hearing him talk, it's so cute!)

Daddy and Jaxon digging big holes to play in.

This is what they call a truck in Mexico. That is the truck they use to put the boat into the water.

My cute little boy.
Daddy and Jaxon trying to catch fish with this "fish catcher" they found in the garage.
Jaxon thought it was fun to through the sand all over the place... we tried to explain to him that was his name and to not mess it up but he was persistant on doing it anyway.
Ohhh... isn't Stuart so cute?

This is the beautiful home we stayed in. It was a blast. It had a hot tub on the top of the house. It could not have gotten any better.
Good times had by all
ROCK BAND BABY!!
We tried our best to stay out of the sun but Jaxon did not like staying in one place... so I would follow him around with some shade. What a crazy mom.... I know! :)
Playing on the Jet Ski's. Jaxon would much rather crawl on and off the jet ski and then pretend like he is driving it rather than do it. He did get out there once and didn't mind it but he was much happier playing with it on the land.

That trip looked like so much fun! We love R.P. Let your kid get his vitamin D every once in awhile! We need to start up v-ball again, soon. Talk to you later.
